Helping others improve and turn their lives around - there's no better feeling. It's what we do for thousands of people at more than 150 sites across the UK. Be a part of it.

We are looking for a confident Support Worker with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You'll be working 42 hours a week, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Sherwood Lodge.

At Cygnet Sherwood Lodge, we support 26 men with learning disabilities and associated complex needs who may also have behaviours that challenge.

When individuals come to Cygnet Sherwood Lodge they can often be mentally and emotionally unstable due to varying reasons. We believe that by creating a calm and inviting environment we can enhance a person's progress and self-esteem to help them on their care pathway towards a less restrictive setting.

The service is located in the heart of the community just a short distance from an extensive array of local amenities including leisure centres, social clubs, shops and restaurants. We want the men in our care to make their own choices and live as independently as they are able to. To achieve this, our in-house Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) supports them with our learning disability model of care. This offers support from the nursing team, psychology, psychiatry, speech and language and occupational therapy.

  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
  • Provide guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
  • Learn about individuals' specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
  • Assist with medical & welfare needs
  • Report on medical & welfare needs as required
  • Safeguard
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment for all

Why Cygnet? We'll offer you...
  • £13.15ph increasing to £13.45ph after 3 months
  • Flexible working with the opportunity for overtime
  • Regular coaching & appraisal
  • Expert supervision & peer support
  • Employee discount savings & "Cycle to Work" scheme

You are...
  • Genuinely driven with a desire to make a real difference in people's lives
  • An excellent communicator & a good team player
  • Sensitive & intuitive with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
  • Passionate about empowering & supporting service user independence

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Cygnet has been providing a national network of high-quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years. In this role you'll have the chance to make a real impact on patients, service users & their families.
