<li>Leadership, direction and supervision of reporting lines including Assistant Team Managers.</li><li>Development and implementation the Team Business Plan.</li><li>&nbsp;Support of social workers through the process of supervision and by attending conferences, reviews, joint interviews, initial core groups and other meetings where appropriate.</li><li>Lead the recruitment and selection of staff including acting as Chair of the recruitment panel.</li><li>Lead formal processes in relation to matters such as disciplinary, grievance and change management.</li><li>Manage, allocate and monitor team workload in accordance with priorities agreed with Senior Managers, ensuring fair distribution of work within the team.</li><li>Chair complex case professionals meetings.</li><li>Take responsibility for key decisions in respect of individual children and young people, in accordance with departmental and statutory guidelines.</li><li>Participate in the development and management of integrated local services to children in need and their families through joint working and partnerships with significant agencies, organisations and groups in the area.</li><li>Monitor the level and quality of social work practice, including reporting to senior managers and elected members, so that high standards of service to the public are promoted and that Bury Standards are maintained.</li><li>Devise and deliver briefings, workshops and training sessions across the service.</li><li>Access different Panels to maximise resources from multi-agency funding streams and ensuring regular review of needs.</li><li>Maintain oversight of information held and processed by the team, ensuring compliance with GDPR and best practice.</li></ul>

Main duties:<ul>
<li>Provide a professional social work service to children in need and their families in accordance with the principles of the Children Act</li><li>Undertake enquiries and assessments of children who are considered to have possible suffered or who may be likely to suffer significant harm. Make applications with the appropriate management and legal advice for Orders to safeguard children under the Children Act</li><li>Work in partnership with service users in a variety of settings including the office, the service user’s own premises and any other suitable setting for social work practice</li><li>Prepare written reports of a professional standard for use in a variety of settings, including Court proceedings.</li><li>Act as a representative of the Local Authority at court, give verbal evidence at Public and Private proceedings and give account of Local Authority actions; provide written evidence for the courts when required.</li><li>Maintain client records in accordance with statutory and departmental requirements.</li><li>Attend child protection conferences, statutory reviews, core groups, department meetings and verbally contribute in a professional manner to the course of the proceedings.</li><li>Represent the Local Authority when cases are being transferred between authorities.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation and implementations of plans for children in need (child protection, looked after children and family support)</li><li>Contribute to the maintenance and development of an efficient and effective social work team, attend and contribute to team meetings in a structured professional manner.</li><li>Provide cover for the Children and Families Social Work Teams and when required.</li><li>Work directly with service users employing a wide range of social work knowledge, skills, methods and techniques.</li><li>Work co-operatively or conjointly with other social workers or other professionals where this is seen to be appropriate by the Fieldwork Team Manager or their managers</li><li>Participate as required in the administration and organisation of all work related to social work duties associated with the post.</li><li>Provide information to assist in the planning, implementation or monitoring of services as required for departmental, Department of Health or other official purposes.</li><li>Work effectively and co-operatively within a professional and family network established in respect of individual children in need and their families.</li></ul>
Requirements of this Social Worker role:<ul>
<li>Possess a degree in Social Work (such as CQSW, CSS, DiPSW, or an equivalent qualification)</li><li>Must be registered with Social Work England</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989</li><li>Thorough understanding of the developmental stages of children and adolescents</li><li>Proven ability to conduct detailed analyses and produce high-quality written reports</li></ul>
