What you will do

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of social workers, providing effective supervision, support, and performance management.
  • Monitor team performance using key performance data to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
  • Contribute to budget management by authorising expenditure and ensuring resources are used effectively.
  • Support safer recruitment processes to maintain appropriate staffing levels across the service.
  • Ensure high-quality assessments, statutory visits, reviews, and care planning are completed within required timescales for disabled children and young people.
  • Promote partnership working with internal teams, education, health professionals, and external agencies to deliver coordinated, child-centred services.
  • Drive continuous service improvement while maintaining a positive, supportive team culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and families.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care, including work with children with disabilities.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience within a social work setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant children's legislation, safeguarding practices, and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
