Nursery Teacher - Croydon

Are you a warm and experienced Nursery Teacher looking to lead early-years provision in Croydon from January 2026? A welcoming primary with strong outdoor spaces is recruiting a Nursery Teacher to develop high-quality provision that prepares children for Reception.

The Nursery Teacher will plan child-led, developmentally appropriate activities, maintain learning journals and work closely with families to support routines and transitions. This Nursery Teacher post in Croydon starts January 2026, and the successful candidate will take part in induction and handover prior to January 2026 to ensure continuity.

Role responsibilities

  • Design and implement stimulating nursery sessions that support communication, early numeracy and physical development.
  • Observe children, record development and use evidence to plan precise next steps and group activities.
  • Build positive partnerships with families to support routines, attendance and early-home learning in Croydon.
  • Maintain safe indoor and outdoor environments, carry out basic site checks and ensure resources are well organised.
  • Contribute to staff training and share effective early-years practice across the phase.

Person specification

  • Qualified with relevant early-years experience and strong understanding of child development in nursery contexts.
  • Practical, organised and skilled at building trusting relationships with families and colleagues in Croydon.
  • Committed to inclusive practice, safeguarding and high-quality early-years pedagogy.
  • Available to begin January 2026 and to attend induction prior to January 2026.
