We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our Youth Justice Service.

About You

In this rewarding role, you'll work directly with children, young people and their families to help reduce offending, build resilience and create positive futures. You will work in a trauma informed way with all young people so experience of this will be a clear advantage.

You will provide practical and emotional support, strengthen family relationships, coordinate interventions, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure young people receive the right help at the right time.

The majority of your role will be working with colleagues and partner organisations to avoid young people being remanded into custody. Working some Saturdays will be a requirement of the role.

Why Join Us?

At Derbyshire, we are committed to helping our workforce grow and succeed. You'll join a supportive, experienced and passionate team dedicated to making a genuine difference in the lives of children and families.

In return, you'll benefit from:
  • Meaningful and rewarding work that changes lives.
  • A supportive team environment with regular supervision and guidance.
  • Opportunities for training, development and career progression.
  • Strong partnership working and collaborative practice.
  • The chance to make a real impact in your local community.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided. Click here to see our policy on criminal background checks.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Apply now and take the first step towards a fulfilling career with us! By joining Derbyshire County Council you will have access to a range of amazing rewards and employee benefits, including our generous annual leave scheme, excellent local government pension and fantastic employee discounts.
