 The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £47,661 per annum. 
 
 Main duties:

<ul>
<li>To be responsible for complex cases and detailed assessments including, where appropriate, Child Protection Assessments.</li>

<li>To assist the Manager, as required in aspects of the Team's work including the allocation of work; maintaining, developing and encouraging high professional standards; and supporting the supervision and development of individual staff.</li>

<li>To keep up to date with good practice guidance, current legislation, Government initiatives and local polices and procedures with a view to playing a lead role in disseminating these within the team.</li>

<li>To provide consultation, advice and guidance to Team members on professional issues.</li>

<li>To assist the Head of Service in developing and maintaining projects within agreed timetables.</li>

<li>To represent the Manager or Head of Service at internal and external meetings where appropriate, and to act as Deputy to the Manager.</li>

<li>To wrote complex reports and briefing papers on policy and operational issues for the Team Manager, Head of Service, Chief Officer of Children and Families and to participate in a range of meetings, case conferences or task forces, service and project management groups.</li>

<li>To assist in ensuring that team members fulfil expectations in relation to the Council's statutory responsibilities, policies and standards and that the practice is anti-discriminatory.</li>

<li>To assist the Manager, when required, in the performance management for all staff.</li>

<li>To assist in ensuring individual training needs are identified and appropriate training plans are developed for the team.</li>

<li>To actively participate in the overall management and development of the service through Team Meetings and Service wide meetings; attend and participate positively in Team and other meetings as required with a view to promoting the development of an integrated response to clients needs, concentrating on the delivery of an efficient and effective service.</li>

<li>To maintain management information systems and provide regular reports identifying trends and proposing solutions where problems are identified.</li>

<li>To provide cover for the work of other Senior Practitioners and Team Managers as required and arrange cover for other Team members across the section and Children &amp; Families where necessary.</li>

<li>To participate fully in the development and maintenance of effective liaison and co-operation with the local community, community groups, other Authorities, agencies and non-statutory organisations.</li>

<li>To provide management, consultation, professional support, advice and guidance to the immediate team and others across Children &amp; Families.</li>

<li>Any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of the post, as may from time to time are required.</li>
</ul>
