What you will do:

  • Oversee and manage allegations against professionals and volunteers working with children, ensuring compliance with statutory safeguarding guidance and thresholds.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to employers, schools, and partner agencies regarding safeguarding concerns and allegations management.
  • Undertake initial evaluation of referrals, determining whether allegations meet LADO thresholds and require formal action.
  • Chair multi-agency strategy meetings and allegations management meetings, ensuring coordinated and proportionate responses.
  • Liaise with Police, Ofsted, DBS, and Children’s Social Care to ensure appropriate investigation pathways are followed.

Person Specification:

  • Hold a Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in safeguarding practice.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of key legislation including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
  • Understanding of DBS processes, employer responsibilities, and safeguarding procedures.
