What you will do

  • Provide day-to-day care, supervision and emotional support to children and young people living within the residential setting.
  • Foster positive relationships that encourage resilience, confidence, independence and healthy life choices.
  • Assist children in participating in education, training, leisure activities and community-based opportunities.
  • Take part in implementing individual placement plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records, daily logs and incident reports as per organisational and regulatory protocols.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or the willingness to achieve this within a set timeframe).
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.

Registration & Compliance

  • Enhanced DBS check with clearance on the Children's Barred List.
  • A clear understanding of the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
  • Knowledge about Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures, equality legislation, and health and safety requirements.
