SEN Nursery Assistant – Early Years Setting – Brentford

An early years setting in Brentford is seeking a dedicated SEN Nursery Assistant to support children with additional needs in a nurturing environment. This full-time role is essential for promoting early development through tailored activities and providing vital support to young learners.

Role Highlights

  • Full-time position in a dedicated early years SEN setting, contributing to a safe and supportive atmosphere for all children.
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging learning activities tailored to the diverse needs of the children, fostering exploration and learning through play.
  • Provide one-on-one support to help children achieve developmental milestones, adapting your approach to meet individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN specialists to create individualized education plans (IEPs) that outline specific goals and strategies.
  • Monitor and document children’s progress, providing feedback to the teaching team to inform future planning.
  • Engage in daily activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being, helping children develop essential social skills.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity and encourages participation.
  • Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes and transitions to ensure a safe and secure atmosphere.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and caregivers to maintain open communication regarding their child's progress.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young children, especially those with special educational needs, is preferred.
  • A creative, patient, and caring approach to early childhood education is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities are crucial.
  • A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is required.
