What you will do:

  • Undertake statutory assessments of children and families, adhering to the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
  • Screen referrals to assess levels of risk and need, aiming to offer the most appropriate interventions and support plans.
  • Complete Child and Family Assessments, develop Child in Need plans, and conduct Section 47 safeguarding enquiries.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and families to encourage engagement and foster positive change.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Have successfully completed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or possess equivalent post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrate evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Registration and Compliance:

  • Be registered with Social Work England.
  • Possess sound knowledge of legislation and procedures including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Care Planning Regulations, Human Rights Act 1998, and Equality Act 2010.
