Job Description

Deputy Nursery Manager

£33,000 per year | Level 3 | 40 Hours per Week

We are looking for an experienced Level 3 Deputy Nursery Manager to join our client’s nursery and work alongside the Nursery Manager in leading a dedicated and passionate team.

Designed with children in mind, the nursery offers bright, airy rooms that provide plenty of space for children to learn, play, and grow, alongside a large outdoor garden and play area where children can explore and develop their confidence through play.

Each room has been carefully furnished with age-appropriate toys, resources, and learning materials, creating engaging environments that support every stage of children's development while delivering the highest standards of care and education.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery, mentoring your team, and ensuring every child receives an exceptional early years experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Proven experience leading and supporting early years teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • A proactive approach to maintaining high standards across the nursery.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and education.

What You'll Receive

  • Discounted childcare
  • Competitive annual leave
  • Pension scheme
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Wellbeing programme
  • Benefits portal
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Opportunity to work within a modern, purpose-built nursery with excellent facilities and career progression opportunities

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and smooth operation of the nursery.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the nursery team, encouraging consistently high-quality early years practice.
  • Monitor the quality of care and education, driving continuous improvement throughout the setting.
  • Support staff through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Help maintain safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are consistently followed.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
