Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join a dedicated Children with Disabilities Team in Stafford. This role is ideal for an experienced Children's Social Worker with a strong background in Children with Disabilities, Safeguarding, Child Protection, and complex case management. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead by example, support colleagues, and help deliver high-quality, child-centred social work practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of children and young people with disabilities, ensuring their needs are assessed and met effectively.
- Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, reviews, and risk assessments in line with statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans that promote the wellbeing, independence, and development of children with disabilities.
- Lead on complex safeguarding cases, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and looked after children where appropriate.
- Provide professional guidance, mentoring, and practice support to social workers within the team.
- Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, therapists, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, multi-agency support.
- Prepare high-quality reports, assessments, and court documentation where required.
- Ensure all case recording is accurate, timely, and compliant with current legislation, statutory guidance, and local procedures.
- Promote best practice and contribute to the ongoing development of Children's Social Care services.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care.
- Previous experience working within a Children with Disabilities Team or supporting children with complex additional needs.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, disability legislation, and statutory social work responsibilities.
- Excellent assessment, communication, leadership, and case management skills.
