Job Description
Applications are invited from committed and experienced Approved Mental Health Social Workers / AMHP to join the Older Adult Mental Health Team on the beautiful Island of Guernsey , in the Channel Islands.
This is a Band 7 post.
The Older Adult Community team forms part of the wider Adult Community Mental Health Service and offers a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals who specialise in assessment, diagnosing and treating mental health problems in older age.
You will provide support to clients both in the hospital and in the wider community.
You may also be required to to take part in the Island-wide rota in the carrying out of ASW/AMP duties including; liaison with GP's, FMEs and Psychiatrists and developing and maintaining multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scales.
The current Band 7 salary range is £55,578 to £73,085 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS or UK Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave.
The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of Britain's finest and best-kept beaches , an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbor town in St. Peter's Port, the island's capital.
Person Requirements:
Social Worker with current full Social Work England (or equivalent devolved UK registration)
Completion of appropriate ASW/ AMHP training.
A minimum of two year's current or recent ASW/ AMHP practice experience, including Older Adult-specific experience
Ability to make judgments and decisions with confidence, and to cope in stressful situations, prioritise and manage own workload.
Be in possession of a clean and current car driving licence.
