Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home (EBD)

Location: Tower Hamlets, London, E1 1FQ Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Driving Licence Required | Sponsorship Not Available

Overview

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a new children's residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a service from its inception, overseeing Ofsted registration and helping to shape the home's ethos and operations alongside a supportive, forward-thinking leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full Ofsted registration process and ensure the home meets and maintains regulatory compliance

Create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment tailored to the needs of children with EBD

Recruit, manage and develop a dedicated staff team aligned with therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches

Develop and implement individualised care plans that promote positive outcomes

Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust safeguarding practices are in place

Build strong working relationships with local authorities, external agencies, and families

Oversee inspections and implement improvement plans where necessary

Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and occupancy to ensure operational efficiency

Maintain compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards

Essential Requirements

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting

At least 1 year of leadership or management experience in a similar environment

In-depth understanding of the behavioural and emotional needs associated with EBD

Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and quality standards

Proven track record in service development and delivering positive outcomes for children

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Attributes

Previous experience in registering a new children's home with Ofsted

Background in trauma-informed or therapeutic care approaches

Experience in policy and procedure development within children's services
