Job Title: Social Work Team Manager - Family Early Help Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join Southwark Council as a Social Worker within the Family Early Help Team, managing and leading the way toward outstanding early help services. What you will do:

- Provide high support and challenge to motivate staff to achieve high standards and excel in their roles.

- Maintain your own professional development and support team growth through training, learning, and research.

- Apply and develop the Southwark Practice Framework, promoting excellence in practice.

- Support and assess Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) and others on work-based routes, taking on the role of practice educator when needed.

- Contribute positively to service development within the team and share practice knowledge and data.

- Forge strong partnerships to deliver services across various settings, ensuring effective use of authority.

- Represent the council at multi-agency meetings as required.

- Develop comprehensive family assessments and plans, addressing risk factors to promote positive outcomes.

- Collaborate with other agencies and schools to foster integrated and positive outcomes for children.

- Incorporate the wishes and feelings of children and families in all planning and assessments.

- Organize and present complex information effectively in reports and meetings.

- Ensure case management responsibilities are undertaken efficiently, meeting statutory requirements and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive the continuous improvement of early help services, focusing on high-quality, comprehensive care. Support the transition of families from statutory to early help services, ensuring continued progress. Promote professional growth within the team, fostering emotionally intelligent practice supervision and maintaining a service that is responsive to the needs of children and families.
