What you will do:
- Manage and oversee a team comprising of an Advanced Social Worker and four to five Social Workers, ensuring a high standard of practice in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Handle a diverse caseload of typically 20-24, involving a mix of complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) cases, and comprehensive assessments.
- Engage actively in the duty rota, with teams covering duty one full week every three weeks, ensuring high-level support and planning during these periods.
- Facilitate remote working while ensuring availability for crises and Section 47 enquiries.
- Provide regular supervision, enhancing team performance and individual capabilities.
- Support continuous quality assurance initiatives, maintaining the good standards highlighted by the latest Ofsted inspection.
- Participate in training and development activities to maintain high professional standards and prepare for future career progression.
- Travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county to visit children placed outside the area, ensuring comprehensive oversight of all casework.
