What you will do
- Manage a caseload of children and families requiring safeguarding and statutory intervention, ensuring their safety and well-being is the top priority.
- Undertake comprehensive Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments, and pre-birth assessments in line with statutory guidance, providing crucial insights and recommendations.
- Lead and contribute effectively to Section 47 Child Protection enquiries and Child in Need processes, making a genuine impact on children's lives.
- Develop, implement, and review Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care plans, tailoring them to meet individual needs efficiently.
- Prepare high-quality reports, statements, and assessments for court proceedings, case conferences, and review meetings, showcasing your expertise and attention to detail.
Person Specification
- Hold a Degree in Social Work, BA Social Work, MA Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification that underpins your professional skills.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to safeguarding practice, showing your commitment to staying informed and adept.
- Current registration with Social Work England, ensuring you meet professional standards and regulations.
- Sound knowledge of significant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Public Law Outline (PLO), Human Rights Act 1998, Equality Act 2010, and Data Protection legislation.
- Ability to work within statutory safeguarding frameworks and local authority procedures, bringing a thorough and informed approach to your practice.
