What you will do

  • Manage complex safeguarding cases involving children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need plans.
  • Carry out statutory assessments, interventions, and outcome‑focused planning to reduce risk and promote wellbeing.
  • Undertake direct work with children and families to address safeguarding concerns and support change.
  • Prepare high‑quality reports for Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, and court proceedings.
  • Contribute to strategy meetings, protection conferences, and multi‑agency decision‑making forums.
  • Lead and support pre‑proceedings and court work in line with the Public Law Outline.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in accordance with statutory guidance.
  • Participate in audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activity to uphold practice standards.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in Children's Social Care, specifically safeguarding, child protection, and court work.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads confidently in a fast‑paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a Local Authority Safeguarding Team.
  • Familiarity with Liquidlogic or Mosaic case management systems.
  • Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
