What You Will Do

Conduct thorough pre-birth assessments, evaluating parental capacity and identifying risks and protective factors.

Develop and implement care plans to safeguard children before and after birth.

Engage with expectant parents through home visits and group sessions to build parenting skills and support.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including midwives, GPs, police, and early help services for coordinated care.

Make informed child protection decisions, including initiating legal proceedings when necessary.

Provide ongoing support and adapt care plans in the post-birth period.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements

Recognised Social Work qualification (BA, BSc, MA, DipSW, or CQSW).

Registered with Social Work England with a minimum of two years post-qualification experience, ideally in children's social work.

In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and pre-birth protocols.

Valid Enhanced DBS check.
