What You Will Do

Screening & Triage

  • Receive, screen, and prioritise safeguarding referrals in line with Durham's thresholds.

  • Assess risk and vulnerability to determine required intervention levels, from Early Help to Child Protection.

  • Respond swiftly to high-risk cases using sound professional judgement.

Multi-Agency Information Gathering

  • Liaise with Police, Health, Education, and partner agencies to collect and analyse key information.

  • Participate in multi-agency discussions and strategy meetings, sharing insights to support decision-making.

  • Promote collaborative working to ensure effective and timely safeguarding responses.

Safeguarding & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct Section 47 Child Protection enquiries where required.

  • Use evidence-based tools and frameworks to assess risk and need.
