What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of referrals and initial safeguarding cases, ensuring each case is meticulously evaluated and managed with utmost care.

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales, providing comprehensive insights and recommendations.

  • Identify, assess, and manage risk to ensure timely protective interventions that safeguard children and support families effectively.

  • Progress cases to Child In Need, Child Protection, or care proceedings where necessary, demonstrating a deep understanding of processes and thresholds.

  • Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and legal meetings, contributing your expert views and fostering collaborative outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert service in handling a fast-paced and frequently high-pressure workload, maintaining efficiency and precision in all tasks.

  • Work effectively within a multi-agency environment, bringing strong organisational and case management skills to multi-disciplinary partnerships.

Person specification:

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Right to Work in the UK

Key Skills:

  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment skills

  • Good understanding of Duty & Assessment processes and thresholds

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment

Experience:

  • Post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care

  • Experience within Duty, Assessment, or Front Door teams

  • Experience managing safeguarding and child protection cases

  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working
