An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Child Safeguarding Team in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline (PLO) processes

  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989

  • Identify risks, assess safety, and develop effective safeguarding plans

  • Create, review, and update child-focused care and protection plans in partnership with families and professionals

  • Prepare high-quality reports, assessments, and statements for court proceedings

  • Attend court hearings and provide evidence where required

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including police, health, education, early help, and voluntary organisations

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and analytical case records using the council's electronic case management system

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

  • Current registration with Social Work England

  • Enhanced DBS clearance

Salary range

  • £38 per hour
