What you will do

• Undertake statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989, ensuring clear analysis of risk, need, and protective factors.

• Lead and coordinate child protection enquiries, including strategy discussions, core group meetings, and child protection conferences.

• Develop, implement, and review child protection plans in partnership with families and multi-agency partners, ensuring effective safeguarding interventions.

• Undertake direct work with children and families to inform assessment, build relationships, and support meaningful change.

Person Specification

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

• Completion of ASYE or substantial post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s services.

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England.

• Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and local safeguarding procedures.

• Understanding of Public Law Outline (PLO), court processes, and child protection frameworks.
