About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adults Team within North Somerset Council's Adult Care Services. This ongoing locum role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of adults and carers.

As part of a supportive and forward-thinking service, you will deliver person-centred care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Whether full-time or part-time, this role provides the ideal balance between professional fulfilment and personal flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and risk assessments for adults and carers.

  • Develop and implement person-centred care and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Apply statutory frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Safeguarding Adults procedures.

  • Promote independence and wellbeing through a strengths-based approach.

  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, and community partners.

  • Manage a varied caseload, maintaining accurate and timely electronic records.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, best interest decisions, and safeguarding enquiries.

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.

  • Contribute to service development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England.

  • Experience working within Adult Social Care under the Care Act 2014.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and capacity assess

Salary range

  • £28.61 per hour
