What you will do:

  • Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload, applying policy, procedures, guidance, and legislation.
  • Prepare and present written reports and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.
  • Make informed decisions and manage risk using professional judgment, evidence-based tools, and analysis.
  • Communicate confidently in high-risk situations and represent the department in multi-disciplinary forums.
  • Conduct direct work with service users, carers, and families in line with inter-agency safeguarding policies.
  • Assess and navigate care for individuals with eligible social care needs, collaborating with health and other agencies.
  • Plan responses to meet individual care needs, working with carers, advocates, and representatives.
  • Ensure service delivery within financial resources, coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing support plans.
  • Identify gaps in service or unmet needs, advising line managers and commissioners on necessary improvements.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant frontline experience within UK Social Services as a qualified social worker.
