An opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Hospital Team for a qualified and committed Social Worker.
The team works with older people with mental health difficulties within a Psychiatric inpatient setting. You will require good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, as you will be assessing clients care needs, and working with them and their support networks to create support plans to facilitate timely discharge. You will need knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and other relevant legislation. Using person centred, strengths-based approaches you will be supporting people towards discharge.
A good working knowledge of Safeguarding is also essential and confidence in decision making and risk management.
Being a qualified AMHP would be an advantage although not essential and there will be the opportunity to complete AMHP training as part of the role. The position will be working out of Kingsway Derby.

We are continuing to offer a hybrid approach to working, and our team is currently working from home and from the office based on the needs of the service. Ward visits are required for this position.
