What you will do:

• Lead and manage a team of social workers handling Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) cases.

• Provide management oversight and quality assurance of assessments, care planning, and interventions.

• Ensure timely and effective safeguarding decision-making, managing risk and prioritising cases appropriately.

• Deliver supervision, performance management, and professional development to staff.

• Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and multi-agency meetings.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) and evidence of continued professional development. A management or leadership qualification is desirable.

• Registration and compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England. Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children is required.

• DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.
