Purpose of the Role

To provide operational leadership and management to the Safeguarding and Child Protection Team, ensuring excellent social work practice, effective risk management, and positive outcomes for children at risk of harm. You will oversee statutory safeguarding functions, ensuring timely assessments, care planning, and multi-agency collaboration to protect vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of qualified social workers and support staff.

  • Provide reflective supervision, performance management, and mentoring.

  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality assessments, interventions, and safeguarding plans.

  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and identifying learning needs.
