As the Team Manager for a Neighbourhood Social Work team, your primary role will involve overseeing a dedicated team providing vital assessment, planning, and intervention services to children at various critical points, such as the Child Protection threshold, Public Law Outline, and Court proceedings. To succeed, you will draw upon your extensive experience in the statutory social care sector, especially your skills in managing social workers and newly qualified social workers (ASYEs). With your excellent leadership skills, you will ensure your team members are supported, elevating their performance and ensuring the best outcomes for Tameside children. You have the knack for fostering positive relationships with children, young people, families, colleagues, and external partner agencies, inspiring your team to strive for excellence across all tasks.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage the Neighbourhood Social Work Team in delivering high-quality social care services.
  • Provide supervision and case management for social workers, particularly those involved in the PLO and Court domains.
  • Develop and implement strategies for assessment, planning, and intervention services.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with children, families, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies.
  • Inspire and drive your team to achieve the best outcomes for children.
  • Manage and oversee processes related to safeguarding, and child protection alongside strategic planning.
