What you will do

  • Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
  • Assessment: Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 and relevant safeguarding legislation.
  • Safeguarding: Complete Section 47 enquiries and undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children work.
  • Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review child-focused plans that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
  • Court Work: Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports for court proceedings and statutory meetings.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and multidisciplinary reviews.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage risk using professional judgement and statutory guidance.
  • Relationship Building: Develop effective relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Child-Centred Practice: Ensure the voice and lived experience of the child remain central to all assessments and planning.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records using the council's electronic case managemen
