Join the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham as a Senior Social Worker in the Family Support & Safeguarding Team, based at Barking & Dagenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-impact role within a supportive and dynamic children's services team, earning £39.04 per hour.

The role offers excellent flexibility. Core hours are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, but there is real flexibility around start and finish times. Options include 8am-6pm across four days, 8am-4pm, 9am-6pm, and more. Part-time working is also considered, making this role ideal for balancing work and personal commitments.

What You Will Do

  • Undertake Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments to ensure children's safety and wellbeing.

  • Carry out Section 47 Child Protection investigations and prepare high-quality statements and reports for court.

  • Complete Section 7 and Section 37 reports, represent the local authority in court, and give evidence when required.

  • Conduct home visits to monitor situations, safeguard children, and ensure accurate and up-to-date case recording.

  • Convene and chair
