This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Slough. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding decision‑making, ensuring timely and effective responses to concerns about children and young people.

What you will do

• Promote and safeguard the welfare and best interests of children and young people at all times.
• Manage an independent workload, delivering high‑quality responses within statutory timescales.
• Provide specialist advice and constructive professional challenge to colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to screening, threshold decisions, and risk analysis for safeguarding referrals.
• Undertake complex assessments and interventions, including supporting court‑related work where required.
• Prepare clear, structured, and evidence‑based documentation in line with statutory requirements.
• Engage directly with children, young people, and families to ensure their views inform decision‑making.
• Work collaboratively across agencies to support integrated safeguarding responses.
• Supervise social work students under the guidance of the Assistant Team Manager.
• Participate in team meetings and support leadership activity when required.
• Reflect on practice, engage in supervision, and uphold principles of equality and human rights.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker holding a recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Proven experience managing complex or specialist social work cases.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, assessment frameworks, and threshold decision‑making.
• Excellent communication and professional judgement skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working within a MASH or frontline safeguarding setting.
• Experience providing professional challenge or practice guidance to colleagues.
