What you will do:
- Actively promote and safeguard the wellbeing and interests of children and young people across all areas of work.
- Independently manage a complex caseload, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and timely completion of tasks.
- Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, drawing from specialist knowledge and professional experience to guide decision-making and case management.
- Oversee the supervision and development of students in the team, co-working with the Assistant Team Manager to ensure a high standard of practice.
- Facilitate team meetings and contribute to efficient case discussions, occasionally leading meetings in the absence of senior managers.
- Conduct thorough assessments and devise targeted intervention plans for complex cases, ensuring effective risk management and court preparation when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure all reports and recommendations are well-structured and evidence-based.
- Foster constructive relationships with children, young people, and their families, ensuring their voices influence decisions in assessment and planning.
- Collaborate with various professionals and agencies to deliver coherent and effective services, empowering parents and carers toward safe parenting practices.
- Stay updated on policy changes and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain expertise in social work practices.
- Participate in audit and review activities to ensure adherence to the highest professional standards.
