Purpose of the Role

To deliver advanced statutory social work within a defined locality, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and families. Manage complex cases, provide guidance to team members, and contribute to improving child-centred services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex safeguarding and child protection cases.

  • Conduct statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions in line with regulatory standards.

  • Engage directly with children and families, ensuring their perspectives inform decisions.

  • Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences and court proceedings.

  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues and social work students.

  • Lead safeguarding investigations while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.
