What You Will Do

  • Holistic Assessments: Carry out comprehensive assessments of family strengths, needs, and risks impacting children's safety and wellbeing.

  • Develop SMART Plans: Work collaboratively with families to create Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound plans to address concerns and build resilience.

  • Multi-agency Collaboration: Coordinate with partner organisations to ensure wraparound support for families, attending CIN and core group meetings to monitor progress.

  • Child Protection Investigations: Lead investigations where there is risk of significant harm, ensuring timely decision-making and clear plans to protect children.

  • Court Work & Permanency Planning: Participate in legal processes and liaise with fostering, adoption, and commissioning teams to secure appropriate placements.

  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure all assessments, case notes, and documentation meet both local and national standards.

  • Purposeful, Relationship-Based Practice: Champion high-quality social work practice grounded in strong relationships, curiosity, and compassion.

  • Supervision & Development: Actively engage in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing training to continually develop skills and improve outcomes.

  • Amplify Children's Voices: Prioritise children's wishes and feelings in all decision-making and care planning.
