East Sussex | Community & Home-Based Support | Manual Driving Licence Essential
Male Support Workers or Experienced Female Workers Required (due to client presentations)
We are expanding our East Sussex service and seeking skilled, compassionate Support Workers to deliver complex, community‑based mental health support to adults living across the region. Support is provided in individuals’ own homes and within the community, helping them build independence, stability, and confidence.
Due to specific client presentations, we are recruiting male Support Workers or experienced female Support Workers who are confident working with these needs. (This is permitted under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9.)
A manual car driving licence is essential, as this role involves driving the client's vehicle

Our East Sussex team provides psychologically informed, person‑centred support to adults with complex mental health needs, neurodiversity, or trauma backgrounds. ✨ What You’ll Be Doing
As part of this high‑intensity outreach team, you will:
- Deliver a person‑centred service and promote independence at every stage.
- Complete dynamic risk assessments and develop structured support plans.
- Provide practical and emotional support within people’s homes and local communities.
- Promote wellbeing, daily living skills, and engagement in meaningful activities.
- Manage risk appropriately and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
- Use therapeutic de‑escalation and crisis‑intervention techniques when required.
- Encourage participation, inclusion, and personal development.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to organisational and national policies.
You will travel across East Sussex, so a manual car licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

- Confident with individuals who may present with complex behaviours or trauma histories.
- Able to address or challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours constructively.
- Skilled in therapeutic de‑escalation or open to training.
- Adaptable to changing support needs and able to manage workload effectively.
- Computer literate and confident with Microsoft Office.
- Hold a manual driving licence and have access to a car.
Ideal experience:
Previous work in social care, mental health, neurodiversity, or community‑based support.
