Are you ready for a rewarding challenge in the heart of Manchester? Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Manchester City Council's Specialist Positive Pathways Team. This locum position involves working with adults transitioning back into the community following detention under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act and/or complex prison releases. With a focus on complex and high-risk cases, you will play an integral part in providing professional oversight and leading on multidisciplinary collaboration.

What you will do:
- Support and supervise Social Workers within the team to ensure high standards and effective case management.
- Lead on safeguarding, crisis planning, and risk management to protect vulnerable adults in various situations.
- Undertake court-related work, including S21A challenges, welfare applications, and managing Community & Hospital DoLS / DIDs.
- Chair and attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to foster collaboration and shared decision-making.
- Complete and quality assure Mental Capacity Assessments and risk assessments, ensuring legal compliance and client safety.
- Support Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Hearings, advocating for the best outcomes for clients.
- Deputise for the Operational Manager when required, ensuring seamless service delivery.
Essential Experience:
- Learning Disabilities Experience: Proficiency in managing adults with Learning Disabilities within statutory services.
- Complex Case Management: Experience supervising practitioners in high-pressure environments.
- Safeguarding and Legal Work: Competence in Mental Capacity Assessments and DoLS applications.
- Multi-Agency Practice: Skilled in forensic/risk-based practice, with tribunal and hearing experience.
