Role Overview:

As an Adults Social Worker within the Safeguarding Team, your primary responsibility will be to protect adults at risk of abuse or neglect. You will lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, manage complex risks, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote safety, dignity, and wellbeing. This role may be offered on a locum basis, with potential consideration for permanent opportunities.

What you will do:

  • Undertake Section 42 safeguarding enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014.

  • Coordinate safeguarding responses for adults experiencing abuse or neglect.

  • Develop, implement, and review safeguarding protection plans using Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles.

  • Complete detailed risk assessments and implement proportionate safety planning measures.

  • Undertake Care Act assessments alongside safeguarding responsibilities.

  • Assess mental capacity and make Best Interest decisions where required.

  • Manage complex cases including self-neglect, domestic abuse, financial abuse, and organisational abuse.

  • Work within relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and Mental Health Act where applicable.

  • Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners such as health services, police, housing, and voluntary organisations.

  • Maintain accurate and analytical case records and prepare high-quality reports for meetings and legal processes.
