We have a thrilling opportunity for an Adult Social Worker in the Learning and Disability Team in Richmond upon Thames, earning £36.00 per hour on an ongoing basis. Joining the Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Services, you will work alongside Service Managers, Assistant Service Managers, Senior Social Workers, and Social Care Assessors to deliver a holistic and personalised service to residents over the age of 18.

What you will do:

  • Facilitate service user choice by promoting independence and strength-based practice to enable residents to maintain their independence and community connections safely.
  • Assist with budget management, ensuring timely and effective completion of processes like authorising assessments and arranging necessary funding for individual support plans.
  • Undertake statutory interventions for service users at risk, including safeguarding adults and chairing Section 42 Safeguarding Adults Enquiries as needed.
  • Provide operational and motivational leadership, promoting a positive work environment with a focus on delivering high-quality services.
  • Offer regular, formal professional supervision to practitioners, adhering to Council Policies, Procedures, and Professional Standards.
  • Manage the duty team, overseeing all incoming referrals and safeguarding concerns.
