Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Adult Social Worker within the Safeguarding Service to work full time based in Worcestershire.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £44,771 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To work with people to make them safer and support them to manage risks.
  • To work in partnership and engage other professionals to ensure there is a multi-agency approach to safeguarding.
  • To meet statutory requirements including best practice in relation to the principles of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • As an Experienced Social Worker, it is a requirement to be autonomous in the application of relevant legislation, policy, procedures and social work theory.
  • To support the professional and practice development of safeguarding social workers and safeguarding support officers and other Adult Social Care staff through reflective practice, peer support, mentoring and buddy system.
  • To support and promote opportunities for students within the team, including shadowing.
  • To gather information and make a decision on whether the S42(1) Care Act 2014 criteria are met and triage accordingly.
  • To put in place alternative actions to prevent future risk where the criteria are not me.
  • To undertake safeguarding enquiries assessed as low risk.
  • The Social Worker may be expected, on occasions, to represent the Authority in court and also may be required to attend as a witness or give evidence.
  • To represent the service, adults and carers views at a range of meetings and exchange information, make decisions and review progress.
  • To build to excellent and effective relationships with other agencies and the local community to sign-post when appropriate.
  • To promote the welfare of children and act on any concerns regarding the safety of children.
  • The Social Worker will undertake duty responsibilities in line with the requirements of the team.
  • To prepare and participate in reflective practice and supervision.
  • The Social Worker must meet the continuing professional development requirements of the professional regulator and keep abreast of legislative changes.
  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.

Requirements of this Social Worker role:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Relevant Social Work experience.
