Careers at Sway Place
Care Assistants
Our hardworking care assistants always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. They work with the families to shape the care that each resident receives, from the food they’re served to the activities and experiences they want to do – even the ways they prefer to keep in touch with their friends and family.
Team Leaders
With a proven ability to lead and supervise others, team leaders work alongside care assistants to support residents with their daily needs. Ideally with an NVQ level 3 in health and social care, or with a desire to achieve this, team leaders will carry out risk assessments, administer and record medication requirements and lead the care assistants on a day to day basis.
Lifestyle Teams
Our dedicated lifestyles teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know each resident to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

“As Colleague Voice, I have attended a conference last year in Gatwick which 1 was pushed outside my comfort zone (as I was solo travelling which is generally a fear of mine!) and 2 I have really helped my fellow colleagues with raising feedback and way to better support the home. Lorren Nolan
Deputy Manager
“From the moment I first came for an interview at Sway Place, I had a good feeling about the home. I loved the teamwork I could see, and the progression opportunities looked great. I joined the team in 2019, but I’ve worked in the care industry for 14 years. The best part of each day is seeing the residents – they’re what I’m here or! Being made Deputy Manager was a highlight of my career so far. In this role, you need to be patient, respect others, have good computer skills and be level-headed. Ensuring that Sway Place is a home away from home for residents with plenty of activities for all is my main priority.”
Laura Blake
Admissions Advisor
“I started my journey here when the home first opened in 2008. As a previous Team Leader, I supported residents through their personal journeys to live their lives to the fullest and I am dedicated to making a positive difference to the residents we care for. I have welcomed many residents and their families into our beautiful home. Now as Home Admissions Advisor I am dedicated to making a positive difference at what can be an emotional time for residents and their loved ones. Every effort goes into enhancing and enriching the lives of residents here and ensuring that they find the right care solution that is bespoke to them. It is a privilege to be part of the amazing team here and seeing the residents flourish and fulfilled. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.”
Alan Bell
Head Chef
“Working at Sway Place is my first role in a care home, but my background in private aviation preparing high quality balanced meals means I have excellent knowledge and skills for this role. Having also collaborated with Champney’s Health Spa, I know how important the nutrition in our diets is. One of the best parts of the ole is having the interaction with the lovely residents, being able to find out exactly what they like, so I can design and create dishes that they will enjoy. It has a real family feel here at Sway Place and I love being part of a fantastic, dedicated team at Care UK.”
Debra Corrigan
Receptionist
“I joined Sway Place to be part of a great team of people. Before this, I was working in an activities centre for disabled children. I love that every day here is different, and I’m proud to be the first person to greet friends and family into the home and give them the friendly and professional Sway Place welcome. I enjoy working with our team of compassionate, caring people.”
Samantha Collins
Head Housekeeper
“I have worked within the care environment for 14 years and chose to move to Sway Place because of the lovely location and good feedback from the team at the home. I was very happy to be promoted from “Housekeeper” to “Head Housekeeper” in 2021. I really enjoy spending time with all the lovely residents and getting to know their individual personalities.”
