What you will do
- Lead, supervise, and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering services to looked after children and care leavers.
- Ensure statutory assessments, pathway plans, care plans, permanence planning, and reviews are completed to required standards and timescales.
- Provide professional oversight and decision-making on complex safeguarding, court, and permanence cases.
- Promote high-quality, trauma-informed, and relationship-based social work practice across the service.
- Monitor performance, manage risks, quality assure casework, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, MA or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Management or leadership qualification desirable.
- Practice Educator Award desirable.
Registration and Compliance
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Thorough knowledge of:
- Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Care Leavers (Children and Social Work Act 2017)
- Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations
- Equality Act 2010
- Relevant safeguarding and corporate parenting responsibilities.
