Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will manage and support a caseload of up with mental health conditions. You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members. As a deputy manager of the team, you will lead and promote adult safeguarding and will empower recovery to encourage service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth. As a Deputy Lead Social Worker you will be: <ul> <li> Supporting the social work team to take the lead on child and adult safeguarding. </li> <li> Deputising for Lead social worker in quality assurance meetings. </li> <li> Supporting the social work team to deliver Safeguarding induction and update training across the Hospital. </li> <li> Leading the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions. </li> <li> Delivering quality supervision and appraisal to junior and senior social workers in the Team. </li> <li> Liaising with external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, CMHT, FIND, FOLS, Police and Probation. </li> <li> Supporting carers and families of detained patients </li> </ul> To be successful in this role, you'll need: <ul> <li> A Social Work qualification </li> <li> Registration with Social Work England. </li> <li> Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation </li> <li> Have at least 4 years' experience of working in a similar environment </li> </ul> Where you will be working Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
