The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £47,857 per annum. Main duties:<ul>
<li>To undertake Assessments within the required timescales in accordance with the Framework.</li><li>To assess and identify levels of risk and need and deliver protective or supportive service for children with a child protection plan.</li><li>To implement care plans by working in partnership with parents and colleagues from other agencies to effect better outcomes for children with Child Protection Plans.</li><li>To accommodate children and young people and initiate care proceedings when appropriate.</li><li>To formulate care plans in partnerships with children and young people, their families and other providers of care and assistance based on these assessments.</li><li>To produced courts statements and when required, give evidence in court on behalf of the Local Authority.</li><li>To provide verbal and written reports to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, planning meetings and reviews.</li><li>To maintain and develop up to date relevant skills and knowledge of current legislation, policy and social work practice.</li><li>To take responsibility for managing an individual caseload, having regard to the relative needs of all service users and ensuring an effective use of time and resources.</li><li>To attend and actively make use of Supervision and performance appraisal.</li><li>To maintain accurate and up to date electronic case records in line with policies and procedures.</li><li>To ensure that all expenditure on cases is properly authorized and recorded, and that cases with financial packages are regularly monitored and reviewed.</li><li>To ensure that all legislation and local council policies regarding Health and Safety are adhered to.</li><li>These activities may be varied from time to time to meet the changing needs of the service.</li></ul>

<li>To hold a caseload of identified children and families.</li><li>To support foster carers and families in a way which enables them to feel able to maintain difficult placements and improve both the quality of life and life chances for the adolescents within them.</li><li>To provide intensive and rapid support when a family breaks down (including foster families) with the aim of keeping the family together.</li><li>To work intensively with families to keep their children out of care, to prevent becoming looked after and with identified foster families where the placement is assessed as risk of breaking down.</li><li>To work intensively with identified adolescents in order to better meet their needs.</li><li>To support children and families within the family home including foster homes, within the school and within the community.</li><li>To work side by side with families, foster carers and their Social Workers, using proven methodologies such as motivational interviewing and brief solution focused therapy; supporting families to address issues that may result in the removal of their children.</li><li>To work outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of the service as and when required.</li><li>To undertake full ands through assessments of family’s needs and strengths and collate multi-agency information.</li><li>To provide full and through support to families in order for them to meet their Support Plan targets and collate multi-agency information.</li><li>To provide and deliver inclusive intervention packages working in conjunction with communities.</li><li>Ensure monitoring and evaluation is completed in line with requirements.</li><li>To prepare and present reports.</li></ul>
