Locum Social Worker - Cared For Children Team in Torbay, earning up to £42 per hour for social work roles (dependent on experience) for social workers. This is a long-term placement of six months or more, working full time, 37 hours per week. What you will do:

• Manage a caseload of typically 20 to 24 cases, including complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and assessments.
• Work as a part of a dedicated team covering Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham, alongside a Team Manager, Advanced Social Worker, and fellow Social Workers.
• Ensure regular engagement with the office, attending up to three times per week as required, especially during duty weeks.
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored care plans to support children and families.
• Respond efficiently to crisis situations, including Section 47 enquiries, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
• Meet supervision requirements, providing feedback and advice to continually improve team performance and client care.
• Travel as necessary, with the requirement to hold a UK driver’s license, business insurance, and access to a vehicle for visiting children placed both in and out of county.
