Job Description

Nursery Practitioner

£28,000–£28,700 per year

40 Hours per Week, All Year Round

Designed to inspire young minds, the nursery offers light, spacious learning environments where children are encouraged to play, explore, and develop at their own pace.

A true home-from-home setting, the nursery features cosy, nurturing spaces that help children feel safe, settled, and confident, alongside a beautiful garden where they can enjoy outdoor adventures, discover nature, and develop through hands-on learning experiences.

Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you'll help create meaningful learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence while giving every child the very best start in life.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within an early years setting.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and child-centred approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn, grow, and thrive.

Benefits

  • Long service awards
  • Pension scheme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Annual leave that increases with length of service
  • Discounted childcare
  • Staff incentives and recognition schemes
  • Wellbeing support and employee wellbeing programme
  • Work within a Good Ofsted-rated nursery with beautiful indoor and outdoor learning environments

Nursery Practitioner Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Plan and provide engaging activities that support children's learning and development.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel happy and valued.
  • Encourage children's confidence, curiosity, and independence through play-based learning.
  • Make full use of the nursery's indoor and outdoor environments to enrich children's daily experiences.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to support their individual learning journeys.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
