Job Description

Early Years Practitioner

From £12.71 per hour | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday | 7:45am – 9:00am & 3:00pm – 6:00pm

This is a wonderful opportunity for an Early Years Practitioner to join a small, friendly nursery school providing high-quality childcare and education for children. The nursery is passionate about giving every child the very best start, creating a calm, nurturing environment where they feel safe, valued, and confident to explore the world around them.

The nursery believes children learn best through a balance of adult-led learning and child-initiated play, giving them the freedom to investigate, discover, and develop at their own pace. Every session is carefully planned to encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence while ensuring each child receives the individual support they need throughout their unique learning journey.

Working alongside a welcoming and supportive team, you'll help provide enriching experiences that build strong foundations for children's future learning and prepare them for the exciting transition into school.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working with children aged 0–5 years is desirable.
  • Good understanding of child development and safeguarding.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.

Why You Should Consider This Role

  • From £12.71 per hour
  • Term-time only position, offering an excellent work-life balance.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern.
  • Working hours of 7:45am – 9:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm.
  • Uniform provided.
  • On-site parking.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference during the most important years of a child's development.
  • Supportive and welcoming team environment.

Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children feel happy and secure.
  • Support children's educational, social, and emotional development through play-based learning.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity.
  • Promote children's independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Observe children's progress and contribute to their individual development.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
