This is an exciting opportunity to join the MASH Team within Adult's Social Care in Manchester. As an Adults Social Worker, you will work in a vibrant, multi-disciplinary setting alongside key partners such as health professionals, police, and housing teams to deliver timely and person-centred safeguarding and early intervention for adults throughout Manchester. What you will do

  • Manage safeguarding referrals, welfare concerns, and new contacts within the Adult Social Care MASH.
  • Undertake strengths-based assessments and develop person-centred support plans.
  • Assess, manage, and reduce risk while promoting positive outcomes for adults.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate effective safeguarding responses.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to service users and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Contribute to multi-agency decision making through effective information gathering and analysis.
  • Promote independence and prevent unnecessary reliance on formal care services.
  • Support students, trainees, and less experienced colleagues where required.
  • Participate in service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, the Care Act, and relevant statutory guidance.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and partnership working abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent IT skills and experience maintaining electronic case management systems.
  • Willingness to travel across Manchester as required.
