Job Description

Nursery Practitioner

Level 2 – £13.00 per hour | Level 3 – £14.00 per hour | Full Time | All Year Round

Looking for an early years setting where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, develop independence, and discover a lifelong love of learning?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a Good Ofsted-rated nursery that combines a warm, family feel with an inspiring Montessori approach. The service is looking for a caring and enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about supporting children during the most important years of their development.

Rooted in Montessori principles, this small and thoughtfully designed nursery provides a calm, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to learn through exploration, independence, and hands-on experiences. Every aspect of the day is carefully planned to help children develop not only the skills they need for school but also the confidence, empathy, and resilience that will support them throughout life.

Nursery Practitioner Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within an early years setting.
  • An interest in or understanding of the Montessori approach is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for early years education.

Why Should You Consider This Role

  • Level 2: £13.00 per hour
  • Level 3: £14.00 per hour
  • Full-time, all-year-round position
  • Work in a Good Ofsted-rated nursery
  • Opportunity to develop your knowledge of the Montessori approach
  • Supportive, close-knit team with a genuine family feel
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Beautiful, calm learning environment designed to inspire children and practitioners alike

Nursery Practitioner Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework and Montessori philosophy.
  • Create engaging, child-led learning experiences that encourage curiosity and independence.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to support their individual learning journeys.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child can flourish.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
