We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Family Recovery Coordinator to join a dedicated Substance Misuse Service in Widnes. This ongoing full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £23.00 and an initial contract of three months, working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. What you will do:

  • Provide tailored support, guidance, and recovery-focused interventions for families affected by substance misuse.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments to identify family strengths, risks, and support needs, developing personalised recovery plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with individuals and families, empowering them to achieve sustainable recovery goals.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including social care, health services, education, housing, and community organisations to deliver coordinated support.
  • Monitor, review, and adapt recovery plans to ensure interventions remain responsive to changing family circumstances.
  • Deliver one-to-one support sessions, family interventions, and group workshops focusing on recovery, resilience, parenting, and harm reduction.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for children, young people, and families affected by substance misuse.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in accordance with organisational policies and professional standards.
  • Contribute to service development and continuously promote best practice within family recovery and substance misuse services.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within Substance Misuse Services, Family Recovery, or a related support service.
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse, recovery models, safeguarding, and family-focused interventions.
  • Excellent assessment, case management, communication, and motivational interviewing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while managing an independent caseload.
  • Experience working with vulnerable families and coordinating multi-agency support is highly desirable.
